Am I the last person on earth still putting Christmas stuff away?!?!

Am I the only one out there still putting away the Christmas decor?!?!  I keep finding stuff which is not helping, but then again I haven't even started taking down my little white Christmas tree!  

Some how this time of year always make me want to get organized, to clean things out for good!  I'm laughing now, because I just can't seem to keep things clean....ever!  Living in less than 600 sq doesn't help either,  one little thing gets out of place and it's total chaos over here!  One thing that I've been dying to work on is the bedroom, as I spent most of last year working on the living room.   It's still not DONE, but so much better than where is was a little over a year ago.  

One thing that I've desperatly needed for the bedroom, is a dresser of my own.  You see Josh and I have been sharing a six drawer dresser he had growing up.  I do not like it, but we have not updated it as it serves it's function and he seems rather attached to it!  I even suggested a little paint makeover for it last year and he seemed turned off by that.  Why do boys love ugly things?!? Anywhoooo,  I've ordered a few solid wood dressers, that will be getting a fabulous paint and trim makeover once they get here!
I've been surfing around Pinterest for some organizing inspiration lately and have found a few things  I LOVE!

Super Cheap Chic Find!

Right before New Years I was shopping with a girlfriend in Crate and Barrel and saw some Champagne glasses that I fell in love with!  I did not get them at the time and kinda regretted it as soon as I got home, my closest Crate and Barrel is over an hour away.  Now the reason I didn't get them at the time was I really didn't need them and had just come from Saks and had dropped a pretty penny on some new Chanel makeup!  So the thirty or so dollars for a few glasses that I wasn't sure we would even use anytime soon, well I just couldn't get them!   But I literally could not stop thinking about these beauties!

After Josh and I decided we were staying in on New Years Eve, and I decided I wanted to make some champagne cocktails I REALLY wished I had sucked it up and purchased those champagne glasses!

We also had no champagne glasses at home either, so come New Years Eve, I set out in search for something.  

Our first and only stop ( thankfully it was our only stop, cause it was kinda late to be buying glassware for the big night! ) was Pier 1.   I saw several plain and a few fabulous glasses that may have worked,  but I knew I found the one, when I saw a  knock off of my Crate and Barrel loves!

Bonus they were on sale for less than four dollars!

Can't beat that!

 As the New Year began, we toasted each other with these lovely glasses filled with a champagne cocktail called a blushing bride,  soooooo yummy!

Here's what you need to make one!

Peach Schnapps -1 oz

Grenadine -1 oz

Champagne - top off the glass

I also substituted the grenadine for chambord and that was super yummy too!

  

Favs of 2011 and a Link Party!

So 2011 was such a fun year for me around the apartment!  I accomplished so many FAVORITE projects!

Like getting a new sofa,  finally finding some gorgeous pillows to finish it all off, 

DIY-ing my gold leaf lamps and completing my Gallery Art Wall !

I also LOVED building my own sofa table, and couldn't be happier with it still!

2011 also ended my search for some faux bamboo chairs to add to the living room!

It's been such a fun year working on some fun projects!

Features from the last link party!!

Santa's Come and Gone....

So Christmas has come and gone and a New Year has already begun, and I am just now getting back to this ole blog.  I never had any intention of staying away this long, but with some unexpected guests popping in and out throughout the Holidays I've had so many other things vying for my attention!
Josh and my best friend were too cute planning a surprise visit,  as some of you who follow me on twitter know, I KNEW something was up!  I just couldn't figure out what!  When she showed up the night after Christmas it all made sense!  I love girl time, and shopping trips with your best friend!

But, with things getting make to normal, I think I can finally get focused again!  Hey, I did at least managed to take my live tree down yesterday, which is a good thing because it was turning into kindling and might just have sparked a fire if left up much longer,  I have not however put the ornaments away!  I mean a girl can only do so much work, and after carefully taking each precious ornament off the tree, gently pulling the pearl garland off and cursing the dead branches for holding onto the lights so well I was pooped!  So I gave up there and had a nice little glass of wine!

See all my ornaments are still in piles around the room!  I'm also thinking I'm not going to take my white tree down yet!  I just love it too much!

So I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas, and got everything on your wish list!!  I mush have been awful  good this year as Santa surprised me with lots of goodies from C Wonder, some new Tory Burch Sunglasses and one thing I really didn't think I would be able to get for a VERY LOOOOONNNGGG time, a Canon t2i!  I'm having a blast taking pictures now!  No more iphone images!  Yay!  Even though I must admit my iphone did a pretty good job!    

Did you all get any pretty exciting gifts this Christmas?  What about surprise visits from friends?

I hope you all had a fun filled New Years Eve celebration last night!  Josh and I spent the night in drinking lots of champagne cocktails and eating some delicious appetizers! 

 It was perfect!  

I had no intention of taking a whole week off from the blog, but just kept having people drop in on us so I just couldn't get around to taking care of updating the ole blog!  It's been such a fun week!

We had a wonderful Christmas, and I hope you all did as well!
