Chanel Artwork!

First off I have to say THANK YOU  for all the understanding comments about me trying to add exercise back into my daily life, AND balance this ole blog!  You all are so great and supportive!  Thank you!
I've been getting in a few Zumba classes over the last week, and love it!
I've still been working on a few things around here as well, one recent little change I made to the living room, was adding a new piece of artwork to my gallery wall!
You can read a about some of its transformation here.
I finished this gold and black Chanel inspired artwork about a month ago, but didn't really know where I was going to put it.  Well, about a week ago it became the newest addition to my Gallery Wall!  I just love it!

Isn't this little guy cute!  A very nice friend surprised me with this little treat from my new favorite store
 C Wonder!

I got off topic of the Chanel artwork, just a little bit, but I had to show you all the gorgeous flowers Josh brought home last night!  I also love playing with my new camera!
So what have you all been up to this week!?
Finish any fabulous projects??
Are there any great new workout classes besides Zumba that I should try???

New Living Room Artwork!

One of my favorite aspects of the living room so far has been the wall above the sofa showcasing artwork I've completed over the years!  Do you remember when I showed you all that here?
Well just in case you don't remember what it looked like, here's a little snippet of the art....

Well I decided the wall needed a little color and the black and white photograph I took in Hawaii just wasn't giving me that pop!  So it was time to take that down, pack it up and save it for another day.

So out came a piece of art I finished just the other day, one which I happen to think works perfect with all my other pieces on the gallery wall!

I love how the gold in the art plays off my gold leafed lamps!
It's like the whole wall has come alive, I just love it!

What do you all think?  Do you like the moodiness of the black and white photo, or the drama and liveliness of the gold artwork?!

A little Art.

This week has been a super crazy one for me, and I have not been able to get to any more of the projects on my list besides the bench redo!  Working overtime can have that effect!
I did finish some custom art work for a client though!
Want to see it?
The client is having the art printed on some invitations!

Please do not copy or distribute this image without my permission, thank you!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

a whole lotta everything.....

I don't know about you guys, but for me it never seems like there is enough time in the day to get everything done that I want to!  I feel as if everything I'm working on is in an eternal state of in progress!  Just is case you were wondering I have a day job.  I am the manager of a very cute designer shoe boutique.  While I LOVE the job it is not something I want to do indefinitely, which is one of the reasons I started this blog.
I am an artist / designer at heart!
I started reading design and DIY blogs about a year ago and I just couldn't seem to get enough of them!  There are so many talented ladies out there!  I always feel inspired and motivated after I do the rounds of the blogs on my reading list.

One of the artsy things I do is create custom artwork, some of the ones I was going to share today were designs I did for invitations to boutique events!

This one was always one of my favorites!

please excuse the poor images I took them with my phone and edited out the text that was added

I've done custom work for stores as well as individuals and have so much fun doing this kinda stuff!  I just recently did the custom artwork for a VIP event to the Port Warwick Art Festival!  If you want to read about the Festival you can do that here!  I'm also currently  working on another  design for an upcoming event!

So I recently shared with you all this image of several fabrics I had ordered.

Were you wondering what I had done with some of the fabrics?  Well I'm finally going to share with you one of the things I finished recently.

I love this black an white trellis fabric!

I made the cording out of some left over silk I had from this Ottoman.   The rope for the cording I had left over from earlier this spring when I taught  myself how to make a custom slipcover for my couch!  I may share that with you all later on!  Anyway I loved the shade of green twill I did for the back side.  It's perfect for my bedroom.  Just to let you know, I was going to take pictures of this pillow where it normally resides on my bed, BUT my bedroom is a FLYING MESS!  I wasn't sure you all wanted to see that.  I reference what I said above about there not being enough hours in the day to get everything done.  Some days it's either tidy up or projects.  And I would MUCH rather work on projects!!!

I did receive the rest of my fabric today!  I really am excited about it!

I'm really hoping to get to these projects this weekend!
So don't forget to follow me to keep up to date with it all!

Kate Spade Inspiration

Whoever comes up with Kate Spades adds is truly talented they are all amazing!
The colors are so bright, poppy, and fun!
I'm thinking about framing a few of them for the great bedroom redo!

Any one else out there find inspiration from unusual places?
