Lilly Love!

As I'm sure you've heard, we had a bit of excitement here in Virginia today; a 5.9 magnitude earthquake!  Quite an experience here on the East Coast!  There I was, sitting in the salon....getting my hair done, and all of a sudden things start to shake!  I mean I wasn't even really sure what was going on, ( we don't have earthquakes here!) until some ladies in the front came back saying we just had an earthquake!  Friends up and down the East Coast said they felt it too!  Whew weird day!  However, my hair came out great and nobody was hurt in the Quake, so it all ended up ok!

Now on to the lovely topic of Lilly.  If you live in the south like me,  I am sure you have heard of Lilly Pulitzer.  You probably either love the look or can not stand it!  It's bight, bold and colorful!  All of which I tend to love!  If you haven't heard,  Lilly Pulitzer came out with some pretty amazing fabrics this summer, they are unfortunately only available to the trade so you will have to find a friend, whom you can bribe,  or hire a decorator who can order some for you.   They are absolutely gorgeous!   Maybe someday they will eventually be available to us lowly do it your-selfers......a girl can dream! .... can't she?!?

Check out these gorgeous patterns!!

I could use about ten of these fabric choices just in my living room alone!  Sigh....

Lilly has also come out with a line of furniture to go alone with this yummy fabric!

Umm....hellooo gorgeous!!  That sofa is not for everyone, but I'm in LOVE!

Isn't that furniture absolutely to DIE for!!  It is available at  Neiman Marcus and Horchow if you just have to go take a look at all the pretty things for yourself!

I always use to think of  the clothing line as super preppy;  you know all polos with matching madras skirts, short, or dresses, but if you haven't checked out the line in a while you might be pleasantly surprised!
In fact, we had a rep come into the store last fall, she said Lilly was trying to broaden the look past much of that preppy only feel!   I love the direction they are going, it wonderfully gorgeous!
So I was super excited last night to get a Facebook update announcing the start of their
You may want to check it out,  but I warn you there is not much left!  I hopped on first thing this morning and was pleasantly surprised at the quantity and selection of items in the sale.  However they went FAST!!!
Here are a few of the goodies I snagged for myself!

I can't wait to wear this top with skinny jeans and tall brown boots!!

This one too!

I love the pattern on this cute workout top!  Somehow I always want to work out more when I have cute clothes on!!

This gorgeous dress was the real icing on the cake....the super sweetest deal of the century!  I have been eyeballing this dress since last spring, but at $328 with no reason or place to wear it; it was just not going to happen!!  But today I paid only $39!!  yup!! I seriously couldn't believe it when I saw it!  The real conundrum came when I had to decide on a color, four options were available and ALL were in my size!  I finally decided on black, one because I DON'T tend to get black and two I thought that would be the most versatile option for year round wear!

Have any of you bought any of the gorgeous furniture or fabrics Lilly Pulitzer is now offering?
Is it your thing, or do you pass on all the colorful brights in favor of a more subtle color palate?   Both of which are fabulous choices!
Are you a Lilly clothing lover?!  Did you manage to snag anything at the End of the Season Sale today??

Fabric Love!

So I did it, I ordered some more fabric for my living room makeover!
In fact it just shipped today!
I'm so excited!
I'm completely in love with the combination!

I think this along with a navy and turquoise fabric, and a lovely coral and white combo, will just about wrap up all the fabric I'll need for the living room!
Boy do I have a lot of sewing to do!
What do you all think of the fabric choices?!

A Little Peak at my Hollywood Regency Transformation!

Here is a little glimpse of the Hollywood Regency transformation that is going on over here today!

Here's one of my lovelies after a few coats of primer, I decided to do several coats because this baby kept sucking up the paint!
So much so that I have to run back out to pick up more supplies!
One chair used up the supply I bought for both!

I've also been thinking about fabric colors, the chairs came with cushions that I kindly turned down because of allergy reasons.  So I will be whipping up some custom DIY versions.
I'm thinking this Dwell fabric, with a white or turquoise cording.

I'm thinking the navy will add a nice bit of drama to the room, and help add some weight, as well as blend beautifully with the coral and turquoise I've been adding to the living room!
I'm also loving this pillow from West Elm to tie it all together!

What do you all think about adding the navy?
Is it a go or a no?!

Well I did it again!

Yup!  I did it again!
I ordered more fabric!  This time though, I bought with something in mind, the new living room look!

It should all be here early next week, and I am so excited, I will be making some bolster pillows for the new sofa, and some other things as well.  Not sure what.....yet.....I'll figure it all out!
Hey I know I have a fabric problem, I just can't help myself!

What do you think?

Junk Mail

Guess what!  I finally took down my Christmas tree!  I know!  I know!  I'm probably the last person on the planet to get around to taking down the Christmas decor, but my tree was doing so well until this last week that I hated to take down a perfectly healthy tree!  Well, now that all the decorations are boxed up and put away, I've been cleaning and organizing the rest of the day!  There is nothing like getting rid of the clutter!
Since it was my New Years resolution, and I shared that with all of you, I thought you may want to see how it's going.

Do you get a crazy amount of junk mail?  Well I seem to get a ridiculous amount, and I know I'm not suppose to just throw something away with my name and address clearly printed on the front.  The risk of identity theft is to great!  So it all seems to pile up until my mail area looks a little something  like this......well exactly like this actually....

I figured it was time to do something about it, so I filed everything that I needed to keep, and the rest got sent through my handy little shredder!

My mail center went from bulging.....

to completely empty and ready for the next round of junk mail.....I'm hoping to keep up with it so it won't get so bad in a few months or so!

I also thought you might want to see how I organized all my fabric and sewing supplies!

I've got a few more boxes of fabric to go through, but I have plenty of room on the top shelf to add a few more!
Just is case you were wondering what sewing supplies could possibly be in the magazine organizers, I find them perfect to hold extra ribbon, trims, and things like zippers.  I like to wrap trims around a heavy-ish sort of cardboard to keep them from getting terribly wrinkled.   I hate pulling out trim thats all bent out of shape!
Anyway, what have you all been up to this weekend?

Fabric Organization

Today I attempted to take on a little organization as part of my New Years resolution.  My fabric and fabric supplies seem to take on a life of their own and tend to get out of control and unorganized very easily, so I decided I was going to hide it all in these great little boxes I bought from TjMaxx and Ikea.
So I organized everything my color and sorted them into boxes!

I've got a lot more to do, more boxes to fill and more fabric and sewing supplies to organize!
How are you all coming along with your New Years resolutions?

Fabric Problem!

Have I mentioned that I have a little bit of a fabric obsession?
I just got done ordering these fabulous prints from Fabric.com

I have yards and yards of unused, but fabulous fabric! ( I have plans for most of it, it's just finding the time to get it all done)  But I just couldn't help myself, I can not pass up such wonderful fabric especially when they were having a sale, AND I got to use a coupon code!   I have no idea what I am going to make out of these delicious choices, but they happen to be the colors I'm currently working with in my bedroom, so who knows!
Go check out Fabric.com if you get the chance ( I have not been paid to promote them, I just love them!) they have such a great selection of Home Decor Fabric, shipping is free over $35, and they have always cut more than the yardage I ordered!  BONUS!  Thats definitely come in handy when my guess-timations have been off!
Anyway, all of the above fabric choices are from Premier Prints, I have used their fabric for many projects and just love the quality, especially for the price on fabric.com !  I think I ended up paying only $5.50 a yd for this last round of fabric!  Just an extra tip, google coupon codes to find an extra discount!

Keep checking back to see what I whip up for this lot!
Do you guys have something that you just can't stop buying, even though you don't have any need for it at the moment?

DIY Bedroom Drapes!

I have been sewing feverishly this week to finish my bedroom drapes, and I am almost completely done with them! I really need to get serious and find some hardware for these beauties.
I had every intention of looking for drapery rings after I left work this evening, but I had a little problem.
These babies.....

They are nearly five inch heals and I wore them for almost 10 hours today!
Towards the end of the day I thought my toes might fall off....haha...not sure why I'm laughing...it might be the pain talking......I just couldn't bring myself to go shopping after a day like that!
What we suffer for fashion!
They are made by designer Claudia Cuiti { made in Italy } and cost a fortune, and I do mean a fortune!
Were talking the price of a sofa!
So of course I had to wear them all day!
A girl's gotta get her money's worth!

Anyway I'm thinking I want to find some bamboo drapery rings, kinda like this, but white.

I don't mind spray painting them, but I wanted to see if I could find some locally before I ordered some online.  Thats what I was planning on looking for after work tonight and those lovely shoes got in the way!

So here are a few pictures of my lovely new drapes I'm almost finishes with, all I have left is to hem them.
I don't have a ton of experience in sewing, more so then most people I guess.  I took a theater class, costume design,  in college and learned how to create custom patterns to fit the clothing that was needed for each play.  While I did learn to use a sewing machine in that class, the majority of the items we made were hand sewn, so I am by no means an expert at using a sewing machine.  But I have enough knowledge to create what I want, and  I am so glad I ending up taking that class!
I did a little research online and found that Isabella & Max has a great tutorial on how to make lined drapery panels!  So I used her tutorial as a guide, and went from there.

I can't wait to find some drapery rings I like, I'm exited to see them in my bedroom!
I'm also thinking I might make a roman shade to go underneath these, but I'm still trying to figure it all out!
I'll give you a break down of everything later....price...and really how I put the whole thing together when I have some more time!
