One of my favorite aspects of the living room so far has been the wall above the sofa showcasing artwork I've completed over the years! Do you remember when I showed you all that here?
Well just in case you don't remember what it looked like, here's a little snippet of the art....
Well I decided the wall needed a little color and the black and white photograph I took in Hawaii just wasn't giving me that pop! So it was time to take that down, pack it up and save it for another day.
So out came a piece of art I finished just the other day, one which I happen to think works perfect with all my other pieces on the gallery wall!
I love how the gold in the art plays off my gold leafed lamps!
It's like the whole wall has come alive, I just love it!
What do you all think? Do you like the moodiness of the black and white photo, or the drama and liveliness of the gold artwork?!
Very pretty! I like the gold!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Such a gorgeously inspiring piece!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Love your lamp shades btw!
ReplyDeleteThey do all look great together...and I agree with the last commenter: those lamp shades are fab!
ReplyDeleteThe colors in all of your art pieces combine so harmoniously. The new art is just perfect.
ReplyDeleteLove how the gold just really makes everything pop and ties it all together. You have a fab sense of style! I am a new GFC and Twitter follower from House of Hepworths. Vicky from www.messforless.net
ReplyDeleteSuper cute gallery wall! Love the pop of color. I'm new to your blog! I love love love your header! I'm your newest follower. Hope you'll stop by The Corson Cottage sometime:) Carrie
ReplyDeleteYour new painting is perfect for that wall, bright and colorful and just right to kick your wall up a notch. Good job, wonderful artwork.
ReplyDeleteI loved the look of the black and white, but I think it's a bit too somber for that space. I think the new painting fits better. I really like that new one.:)
ReplyDeleteDo you do all your paintings free hand?
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the great feedback! And for those who asked all my artwork is done freehand!
ReplyDeleteThis was exactly the touch needed to brighten things up and really "POP" as the decorator crowd likes to say. I love it! Great job and great eye!
ReplyDeleteYour art is fabulous. I love how it looks.

ReplyDeleteGreat wall collection. I actually like the b/w just as much as the gold abstract art. The wall gives off a happy vibe which is awesome! LOVE your lamps too!
ReplyDeleteWay to make that wall come to life. I couldn't put my finger on what wasn't clicking for me in the first photo but it seemed a bit random. Then this change up made it all flow and have purpose. Isn't it amazing how one thing can change a room? I really really like that art work. Now I am hoping you do a post on what techniques you used. Thanks so much for linking this to Motivated Monday at BeColorful

The gold painting is my favorite! You are right- it brings the wall to life. What medium did you use to make the artwork? I'm a bit of an artist too, so I can't resist asking :)
